HI! Thank you for a place to explore/discuss the Lotus Sutra! I am a practicing Buddhist in the south U.S. Raised non-denominational Christian (like most young in the U.S.), I became disillusioned with Christian faith when in mid teen years. I went to school for Theology/Religion, reading any/all sacred texts I could. Experiencing Sakyamuni Buddha's teaching was/is wonderful light, illuminating the mysteries of all religions and faiths. I followed and studied the Pali Texts (Tipitika) for many years before finding the Saddharma Pundirika Sutra (White Lotus). Through study, contemplation and meditation; a wonderful spiritual perspective awoke in me. I walk in devotion and thanks to the Buddha Sakyamuni, the Eternal Buddha. I love love love the Lotus Sutra and will observe/expound its teachings with all who are willing With sincere devotion, I observe the Real Truth (Dharma) of the universe as it is. The flowering of enlightenment energy (Bodhicitta) that is the teaching. -Noah

Hi, and welcome to the forum. My story is similar to yours. I was raised in the southern US, as a Christian. I always had a love for studying other religions, though (my wife thinks it's due to my autism). I fell in love with the Buddha's teachings. I practiced Zen for a few years, until the demands of life made it difficult to practice zazen. So I began reading the Lotus Sutra, and absolutely loved what I found.
