I'll start this thing off, and tell everyone a litte about myself. I was raised in Alabama, and was a conservative Christian most of my life, for nearly 30 years. I studied everything I could about it, and was even a music minister for a short time. I realized that the more I studied about Christianity, the less sense it made. So I began to study philosophy, and other world religions. Long story short, about three years ago, I converted to Buddhism.
I spent most of my time as a Buddhist in the Zen school. Here recently, after much thought and contemplation, I decided to change, and follow the Lotus Sutra, and it's corresponding schools of Nichiren (Nichiren Shu and Rissho Kosei Kai) and Tientai. And, being a big follower of Engaged Buddhism, it became my desire to apply the teachings of the Lotus Sutra to social affairs, which is why I started this site.
On a more personal level: I'm married, and have three children, two of whom are Autistic (like myself). The baby is too young yet to determine for sure, but he seems like he's going to be Autistic as well. I work in a factory in the automotive industry. I love to read, particularly about religion and philosophy. I enjoy a little movies or TV and music from time to time. I love nature, I love being in nature.
Well, that's about all for now. I may reveal a little more in the forums.
